How we’re prepping for the rentrée...

*insert something about back to school vibes*

But now, seriously.

I’m an Autumn baby, so we’re getting to one of my favourite seasons of the year. To me, September has always felt more like a fresh start than January and I also like how we can treat this last quarter like a bit of a sprint to hit targets, refresh goals and one thing that I don’t do that often, which is reviews.

As I mentioned on my previous newsletter, I’ve had my first holiday without logging on this Summer and amongst a whole bunch of things, it’s helped me put things in perspective and really start with this review process. Here’s what I’ve been doing and excuse myself if I’m being a bit ‘woo-woo’ here, but it’s who I am.

1️⃣ Analysing the type of leads that I’ve been getting more carefully/intentionally. Are these businesses aligned with Ferrgood Studio in goals, purpose and values? Are they able to value the expertise and skills I bring to the table?

2️⃣ If the answer to any of these questions is no, then I quite simply thank them and walk away, as I’ve been one too many times working for below my rates and the energy and time that these things take off me has a real impact on the rest of the business.

3️⃣ I follow the joy, as I think that being in that high vibe state 1) is more healthy and pleasant and 2) I believe it helps me attract the best opportunities for myself and my business.

4️⃣ Social content has always been a bit of an Achilles heel for me. I’ve poured in time, money, and patience, yet something was missing: fun. For the longest time, I thought I had to crack a formula. That “value” meant squeezing as much knowledge as possible into every post. But the truth? It didn’t make much difference. So I’ve shifted my approach. My new motto: have fun with it. I love taking photos. I love collages. I love sharing what inspires me. That’s the energy I want to bring here. I’ll still share my work and the tools that genuinely help me, but above all, I’m choosing to enjoy the process. And honestly, it feels like a game-changer.

5️⃣ I’m leaning into bravery and stepping outside my comfort zone more often, choosing to connect with people I don’t yet know. For me, it’s about broadening horizons, sparking new perspectives, and celebrating the power of human connection.

So all in all, I think that August has been a really productive month. Yes there’s been some client work, but mainly I’ve taken advantage of the quietness in the summer months to realy reassess and refresh my goals and perspectives.

With love,
Tx

📚 Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell is a great read if you’re keen to learn how to prioritise your tasks/when to hire/who to hire/general tips on running a business.

📺 The Summer I Turned Pretty. I’m team Jellyfish forever as I think that Conrad is a pretty toxic guy. I’ve been loving it/watching it from the start, but would love to understand why suddenly its become the hot new thing to watch this summer. If anyone knows why it’s such a phenomenon, then please fill me in the comments.
