I’ve been shortlisted for the Creativepool Awards 2025

Two categories. One very grateful studio.

Some news I still can’t quite believe. I’ve been shortlisted for the Creativepool Awards 2025 in not one, but two categories: Designer of the Year and Creative Leader of the Year.

If you’ve been following our studio journey for a while, you’ll know we’re not about shiny trophies for the sake of it. What means the most is that the work we put so much care into is being recognised for its impact, its creativity and its heart. That’s what this is about.

So, here’s a little reflection on what these nominations mean, what’s behind the work and why your vote would mean the world.

What we’re being recognised for

The nominations cover a body of work, not just one project. Which honestly feels even more meaningful. Because it’s not about a one-hit wonder. It’s about consistency. It’s about the way we show up for every brief, every client and every brand we help shape.

The Designer of the Year nomination reflects the visual craft, storytelling and strategy that runs through our design work. From purpose-led startups to established names that needed a reset, we’ve been building brand universes that do more than look pretty. They speak clearly. They connect. They hold space for the people behind the business.

The Creative Leader of the Year nod is something that hits a little differently. Because that one speaks to the how. How I lead this studio. How I work with clients. How I talk openly about burnout, boundaries, and creative sustainability. How I try to make the creative industry feel more human, more inclusive and more intentional.

Highlights from this year’s work

Some of the projects that shaped our year and caught the jury’s eye:

1. Cayr’s Brand Identity
We’ve been working closely with Cayr, a creative health charity, from the ground up. This is a brand rooted in care, creativity and social impact. We helped define their strategy, tone of voice and visual identity to reflect the emotional depth of their mission. It was shortlisted for Best Branding at the 2024 Creativepool Awards, and remains one of our proudest collaborations.

2. The Pink Stitch Campaign
A campaign created for Cayr’s community work with women navigating breast cancer. We brought this to life visually with soft, human-centered storytelling that made space for emotion and care. It’s a quiet campaign, but one with deep resonance.

3. Studio Growth and Presence
Alongside client work, we launched our new identity as Ferrgood Studio, refreshed our website and opened up more conversations around creative boundaries, burnout and the business of design. The response to our Creative Boom interview in particular showed us just how needed these honest conversations still are.

What it means to be shortlisted

To be seen not just as a good designer, but as a creative leader, that’s a real win. Because it speaks to the way we work, not just the final output. It recognises the effort behind the scenes. The late-night thinking. The values we fight for in every brief. The clients we turn down when the alignment isn’t right. The standards we keep high, even when it would be easier not to.

And in an industry that can often feel performative or trend-driven, it’s a real honour to be recognised for doing the work with intention and care.

Why this isn’t just about me

This is a studio nomination, even if it has my name on it. Because nothing I’ve created this year happened in a vacuum. It happened through the conversations, collaborations, brainstorms and beautiful messiness of working with people who care deeply about what they do.

It’s for our clients who trust us to hold their stories with care.
It’s for the collaborators and freelancers who bring magic to the process.
It’s for every creative who’s ever felt too quiet or too tired to chase recognition and did the work anyway.

This is for all of us.

How you can support

The Creativepool Awards are public vote powered. That means your voice matters.

If you’ve ever been inspired by our work, followed our journey, or taken something valuable from our content, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could cast a vote.

It only takes a moment, and your support honestly means so much.

What’s next for us…

We keep going. Regardless of the outcome, this nomination has already given us a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate. And that in itself is rare and beautiful.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’re building at Ferrgood. It’s not perfect, but it’s honest. It’s built on trust, creativity and the belief that brands can be powerful tools for connection and change.

To everyone who’s supported us so far a huge thank you.

We’re just getting started.
